Glowjob Design Process

Glowjob is sexy! Hence it was important to manage the look and feel of the brand so the product could become the graphic embodiment of Barry White S-E-X-U-A-L. Glowjob required a full service design experience in terms of graphic identity and copywriting. Working in partnership with Glowjob the design process was used to ensured each facet of the rebrand packed a neon punch!

To set the graphic tone and style for Glowjob research and development was undertaken so that a celebration of light, sex and pop culture could be infused in the rebrand. This created a playful cacophony of content which was established through clever graphic design paired with innuendo fused copy. The most prevalent was appointing New Zealand infomercial queen Suzanne Paul (made famous for selling a shizz load of ‘Natural Glow’ - a 90’s cosmetic) as Glowjob’s unofficial queen. Bow down.

Top to bottom this rebrand required consideration of all types of media and collateral. Ooooooo yeah. Enjoy. (Warning: you might want to snuggle or shower after viewing - woooooooooo).

Copywriting

Copywriting for Glowjob required specific linguistic attention, especially experimenting with the playful use of the term Glowie a label used to describe Glowjob’s Aotearoa New Zealand made custom neon creations. Glowjob had clear ideas about what kind of direction and methods they wanted to employ.

GLOWSHOP COPY

Glowjob’s online shop also provided an opportunity to reach new audiences and communicate Glowjob’s unique point of difference. Each individual Glowjob creation is called a ‘Glowie’ and for this reason individual definitions encapsulated the personality of the product and brand as a whole in the online shop.

GLOWIE SPECIALIZED COPY WRITING

Beyond the shop - working closely with grammatical distinctions such as nouns, verbs and adjectives the term ‘Glowie’ was playfully twisted and co-opted to craft the character of Glowjob and create custom Glowjob definitions. Each definition is manufactured using pop culture and light related vernacular. Just as every Glowie is unique, so is each new definition. Ever changing and evocative reflecting Glowjob’s unique market presence.

GRAPHIC Development AND PROCESS

The Glowjob logo was hand rendered emulating the manufacturing process. Hence there were many versions of the logo that were developed before we hit the g-spot! Here is a taste…
